Y Area
The Y Area is the gateway to South Lake Tahoe, located along Highway 50 and Highway 89 at the south end of the lake. Here you'll find a mix of residential, multi-family and commercial properties. It's near Barton Memorial Hospital, Tahoe Valley Campground, Tahoe Verde Mobile Home Park and lots of shopping at the Factory Stores at the 'Y.'
There are three elementary schools that serve the Y Area: Bijou Community School, Tahoe Valley Elementary, and Sierra House Elementary. South Lake Tahoe also has one middle school (South Tahoe Middle School) and one high school (South Tahoe High School.)
