Woodfords
Located on historic Highway 88 at the mouth of the West Fork of the Carson River Canyon, Woodfords holds the title as the oldest non-native settlement in the entire region. Today, Woodfords continues to server highway travelers, and is home to about 150 full-time residents. The southern band of the Washoe Tribe also has a small community in nearby Diamond Valley. There are not many homes in this area of recreation, but the ones that are here range from small, older cabins to larger, rambling houses on acreage.
