Lakeridge
This is an area of upscale homes which includes a private homeowners beach and pier with a gazebo, ideal for enjoying the afternoons and sunsets. The lower lakeridge section offers some lakefront properties with easy access from the highway. The upper lakeridge boasts homes moderate in size up to large spacious dwellings with views. Lakeridge sits on the hillside above the lake so residents are still close to everything while at the same time enjoying the privacy of their mountain home.
There are three schools that serve the Lakeridge neighborhood: George Whittell High School, Kingsbury Middle School and Zephyr Cove Elementary. Combined, the three schools have an estimated 600 students and 70 teachers. In August of 2008, Whittell will consolidate with Kingsbury Middle School to become a campus for grades 7 through 12.
In 2005, Whittell was designated as "exemplary", one of only five Nevada schools to earn this honor.
