This neighborhood is located on the south side of Meyers, on Highway 89. It's an unincorporated area, which means it is not a part of the city of South Lake Tahoe. Residents enjoy flat, level access and are just 30 minutes from Kirkwood or Sierra at Tahoe. This is a peaceful and quiet area, with beautiful mountain views. It's also just steps away from open forest land, perfect for hiking, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing and the Upper Truckee River.
There are three elementary schools that serve Christmas Valley: Bijou Community School, Tahoe Valley Elementary, and Sierra House Elementary. South Lake Tahoe also has one middle school (South Tahoe Middle School) and one high school (South Tahoe High School.)
